Masters of Recall Overview
As part of the Year 7-9 curriculum at 麻豆原创, students are required to learn core knowledge in all of their subjects. This knowledge will aid their understanding and also provide a foundation upon which to build in subsequent years. In order to prepare them for KS4, students will need to have established good habits of reviewing and revising their work to help them commit this key knowledge to their long-term memory. To support students in achieving this, they will be provided with Knowledge Organisers and taught revision strategies during College Time (CT) throughout Years 7-9. This will allow them to be successful in their MoR assessments, but also in their final GCSE examinations.
In Year 7, 8 and 9 students will be provided with 鈥楰nowledge Organisers鈥 from the following subjects each term:
- English
- Maths
- Science
- History
- Geography
- RS
- French or Spanish
- Computing
Students will also be tested on the core knowledge from Curriculum for Life and the Professional Standards curriculum.
As part of their weekly home learning, students should spend some time learning the core knowledge from the Knowledge Organisers (KO). They may also use KOs to help them complete homework. At the end of terms 2, 4 and 6, students will sit a 鈥榖iq quiz鈥 as part of their Masters of Recall. This is an online multiple-choice quiz which tests their ability to remember the core knowledge from their Knowledge Organisers. Students will answer 15 questions from each of the 10 subjects, giving a total of 150 questions which takes around 40 minutes to complete on average. Students will find out their overall percentage score at the end of the quiz, but they will also be provided with a subject-by-subject percentage breakdown showing each of their scores, which they can then compare with their personalised target.
Success at Masters of Recall is recognised in several ways:
- Achievement points
